Revolutionizing DealApp: A Journey to User Delight

Introduction

DealApp has developed as an exciting new platform in the dynamic real estate industry that brings together tenants, buyers, brokers, and builders. Its purpose? To eliminate misunderstandings and make buying and selling homes easier.
The road to success was not without obstacles, however, most notably a significant bounce rate when submitting fresh requests. A group of dedicated thinkers and doers saw the need for reform and set out to make significant improvements in usability, efficiency, and enthusiasm among the target audience. An exciting account of how DealApp overcame challenges to bring in a golden age of customer happiness

Chapter 1: Unveiling the Enigma

A deep realization emerged from all the data analysis and user sessions. The difficulty of making the right request choice was identified as the root reason for the high bounce rate.

Users who were not tech-savvy were left to fend for themselves. The group understood that providing users with a thorough onboarding experience was critical to giving them agency and leading them to make well-informed decisions. The conditions were perfect for a radical change to occur.

Chapter 2: A Symphony of Expertise

The Head of Product Design, Ashraf Omran (me), gathered his team of specialists.

The savvy UX researcher, Somaya Ebrahim, dove deep into the world of the home screen in search of ways to fascinate consumers and encourage action.
Together with Mohamed Bakr, they set out to reduce the complexity of submitting requests for additional properties in the hopes of speeding up the process for end users.

Careful product designer Yara Fathy crafted a pleasant interface by integrating visual elements and a logical structure.

And with the help of Sara Fathy, an expert in creating captivating micro-interactions and animations, the team brought their prototypes to life.

Chapter 3: Navigating Constraints, Embracing Change

Due to limitations, the group had to go cautiously. Every choice was clouded by worries about technical requirements and compatibility.

But they never wavered in their determination to achieve success. They plotted a strategy that would allow them to reach their deadlines, and they stuck to it. User approval served as a beacon, directing them towards changes that would be well received.

Usability testing and user opinions became our North Star.

Chapter 4: From Chaos to Clarity

The team took a data-driven approach, using session replays to find obscure flaws and digging into Google Analytics to understand how users navigated the app. With new knowledge in hand, we pushed into the design process, intent on streamlining and simplifying.

The layout and its accompanying visual signals were meticulously crafted to help users accomplish their goals with minimal mental exertion. Changes were made to the home screen’s “create new request” options, with the result being a more logical and intuitive visual hierarchy that guides users with more ease.

Chapter 5: A Symphony of Success

The door to user happiness was unlocked via validation. DealApp was reborn before the eyes of the beta community. We waited breathlessly to see how the redesign would affect them.

Users were led in the right direction by onboarding screens that introduced them to the new and improved functions. The result was quite encouraging, and the group is now more determined than ever to complete their change.

Chapter 6: Redefining User Experience

The team continued to hone their creation with the use of a prototype developed through in-depth interviews with end users. They kept a close eye on users as they explored the revamped platform, all the while being on hand to answer questions and provide feedback.

The team was inspired to make changes in response to user feedback, which ultimately resulted in a superior user experience.
